Back to School

Apple have always been great supporters of education, with Mac & iPad being hugely popular with students and teachers alike. Education discounts are available on Mac for students, teachers and education institutions, meaning these powerful and reliable machines are also great value too. Now it’s the summer holidays, it might be time to start thinking about what technology you need for your work or studies in the new academic year.

The good news is that Apple now has it strongest lineup of MacBook laptops, with a model to suit every need. MacBook Air is a great all-round machine; light and portable, with all-day battery life and the power you need for your productivity tasks, it is perfect for moving from class to class. MacBook Pro with Retina Display is ideal for those who need extra power, for video editing, photography, or the odd gaming session in-between studies. Finally, there is Apple’s newest addition to their range, simply called ‘MacBook’, which is even lighter and more compact than MacBook Air, for the ultimate in portability when it comes to laptops.

Of course, for even more mobile learning (or teaching!), iPad provides a great alternative to the range of MacBooks. As well as the portability and battery life, there are the huge range of educational Apps available, and more and more universities and schools are making use of iTunes U to create and distribute their courses. The advantages of being able to learn anywhere and anytime, with all of your notes and books with you on your iPad are easy to see.

To get the most out of your Apple technology in the new term, you might also need some accessories. New bags and cases are very popular at this time of year, so why not get one that is custom-designed for your devices? Cables, adapters and hard-drives are also in demand; whether you need a Lightning to VGA adapter to share your iPad lessons via a projector, or a back-up hard-drive, so that you don’t lose your all-important dissertation or lesson plans, there are accessories available for every eventuality.
