GarageBand for Mac Update

GarageBand, the entry-level digital audio workstation with a truly professional pedigree (hint - Logic Pro X), has long been the go-to tool for budding musicians world-over. It’s renowned for being accessible for anyone with an interest in making music, from primary school pupils all the way to seasoned veterans looking for a casual canvas to dabble with. Once you load it up it really isn't hard to see why.

GarageBand already comes with a colossal amount of material for your teeth into and now, with the latest update, there’s even more to play with. Here’s a rundown of what’s been added to the latest Garageband 10.1 update:

  • 10 brand new Drummers that produce beats in a wide range of genres and styles (Hip Hop, House, Techno, Dubstep and more).
  • Over 100 Electronic Dance Music (EDM) and Hip Hop-inspired sound patches to use with the new Transform Pad Smart Control, allowing users to morph sounds together with ease.
  • Smart Control automation allows Garageband to capture performances of effect and tone adjustments.
  • 1000 new Apple Loops that cover a variety of popular instruments and genres.
  • New ways to share - upload your audio directly to Apple Music.
  • Adds support for Force Touch trackpad.

Apple have also quietly updated GarageBand for iOS too (albeit not to the extent of its Mac counterpart), allowing you to share directly with Apple Music.

If your school is wanting to learn more about the power of Apple’s iPad and Mac in the world of music education then don’t hesitate to get in touch. KRCS can help you with everything from DAW software, MIDI keyboard controllers, studio monitors, headphones, cabling and more.
