FirstClass Managed Service for Schools

The four key pillars of our Managed Service for Schools will ensure your iPads & Macs are perfectly setup and ready-to-teach. You won’t need anyone with technical know-how in your school - just leave it to us to make it all work - first time - every time.

How does it work?

FirstClass Managed Service for Schools is a subscription based remote service (zero touch deployment) and part of the KRCS FirstClass Programme. Underpinned by best in class Jamf Pro management tools and leveraging best practice from Apple, we manage new deployments as well as existing Apple devices in schools. The KRCS technicians, who have a wealth of experience managing iPad and Mac, take all day-to-day device management away from your school when you subscribe to Managed Service for Schools. Our Managed Service reduces the workload for school IT Technicians so they have more time to manage and administer other systems within the institution. Meanwhile, pupils and teachers will be able to tear the shrink wrap off an iPad box and enjoy all of the benefits of a preconfigured device, with the apps that they need, straight away.

Safe, secure & compliant

Jamf Safe Internet is also included as part of our Service, free of charge. This is on-device content filtering, allowing students to learn safely anywhere - school, home, café or even tethered to a mobile phone, worldwide.

Three year warranty included

Any iPad purchased from KRCS and enrolled into the Service will also be covered for fault or defect for three years from date of invoice. Genuine Apple repairs for iPad are always completed on a whole unit device replacement basis, neither Apple or KRCS offer any component level same unit repair for iPad. All repairs are completed by effectively exchanging your faulty device for a working one. Genuine Apple service replacement devices are cosmetically as new and your remaining device warranty will be transferred to the replacement unit for warranty repairs, or a 90 day warranty will apply (whichever lasts longer).


We also offer a school compliant operating lease. You could build the ideal classroom technology bundle, with the latest devices and subscribe to our Managed Service safe in the knowledge that your devices will be managed, updated and maintained for the life of the subscription which can be 1, 2 or 3 years.


We know that financial sustainability is important when a school considers the best value available within their budget, so why not refresh and recycle your old Apple equipment and release its value. Use these as a trade-in against your new purchase and your pre-loved devices will be recycled in an environmentally friendly way. This includes collection and secure data removal. In addition to these services, KRCS offer bolt-ons to the FirstClass Managed Service subscription which will give access to:

Scheduled maintenance and consultancy days in your school
Onsite technical assistance days to mentor school staff or assist with device deployments*

*If onsite work is necessary this service may require at least one onsite assistance day to be added to the subscription.

Keeping your devices up-to-date

It’s more important than ever to keep the operating system and applications up to date on a Mac; to protect data, comply with industry standards, and achieve accreditations like Cyber Essentials, which tell others that cyber security is taken seriously.

Apple have made it even easier to apply important security fixes to macOS Ventura or later with the Rapid Security Response mechanism which significantly streamlines the installation process.

Keeping applications up to date is more difficult because of the various ways that an app can be installed on Mac, but thankfully our FirstClass Managed Service for education and BusinessClass Managed Service powered by Jamf Pro are here to keep the operating system and apps up to date on Mac.

Included devices

iPad enrolled in Apple's Device Enrolment Program, compatible with the latest version of iPadOS. That's currently iPad Air 2 or later, iPad mini 4 or later and all models of iPad Pro.
iPhone and iPod touch models compatible with the latest version of iOS are also eligible, which is currently iPod touch 7th Gen, and iPhone 6s or later.
We'll always recommend installing the latest version of iPadOS and iOS to benefit from the latest security patches and app compatibility.
macOS devices capable of running macOS X 10.15 Catalina or later can be enrolled in to our Managed Service, for as long as Apple provide security patches for that OS.
Apple TV devices capable of running tvOS 13 or later.

Depending on the size of your deployment, our Managed Service may require an onsite Apple Content Cache and file share distribution point, the cost of which is not included in the subscription.

Quarterly, termly, annually

The minimum term of a FirstClass Managed Service subscription is 12 months, with the subscription payable in quarterly, termly or annual instalments. Renewals are also based on a 12 month cycle. Cancelling a subscription is possible with 30 days written notice and cancellation fees may apply if mid-subscription.

A subscription based on less than 25 devices (made up of any mix of supported devices) will be subject to a licensing levy to cover base costs of the subscription.
