Hetton Lyons Primary School

Hetton Lyons Primary School

At Hetton Lyons Primary School, the focus has been on building confidence with technology at a pace that works for both staff and students. Starting with 64 managed iPads in early 2025, the school took a measured approach, making sure everything was working smoothly before expanding their deployment later that year.

With support from KRCS, the rollout was simple and stress-free. Devices were quickly enrolled into the managed service, allowing the school to get up and running without technical barriers. In fact, staff found that setting up the physical devices took more time than the deployment itself, giving them confidence that the technology would just work when they needed it.

Growing Confidence

That confidence led to growth. By December 2025, the school had expanded to 124 managed devices, building on their initial success and embedding iPad more widely across teaching and learning. As staff became more comfortable, they also began exploring more advanced use cases, including coding through Apple Professional Learning, something that reflects a real shift in capability and ambition.

KRCS has supported the school throughout, providing a reliable managed service alongside training opportunities that continue to build staff confidence. As a result, Hetton Lyons Primary hasn’t just introduced iPad, they’ve created a foundation for long-term digital learning that continues to grow.

It took longer for 2 of us at school to unbox, put them in the cases and then cable the trolleys up and get them all switched on than it did for KRCS to configure and set up the iPads.
