How a UK fintech replaced ad-hoc IT with an enterprise-grade managed service

A London-based AI fintech found a holistic Apple IT partner in KRCS — and a security foundation built for a regulated, enterprise-scale audience.

Multiply is a London-based fintech operating at the intersection of artificial intelligence and regulated financial services. Founded in 2016, the company initially delivered a direct-to-consumer advice proposition before pivoting to an enterprise B2B platform in 2022.

Today, with a team of 20+ employees and contractors using MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, Multiply provides the AI infrastructure that powers financial advice at scale. They combine deterministic advice engines with generative AI capabilities, designed specifically for deployment within regulated financial services environments.

For a business handling sensitive client data under constant enterprise due diligence, getting the IT foundations right was never optional.

For a growing business where engineering time is a precious resource, having an MSP that made the process effortless meant the technical team could stay focused on building the product rather than navigating IT logistics.

Starting out alone

Before engaging with KRCS, Multiply’s approach to IT was entirely ad-hoc. Hardware was sourced independently from multiple suppliers with no standardised procurement process, creating an inconsistent estate that was difficult to manage and audit. There was no remote device management capability in place, meaning the team had no visibility into — nor control over — endpoints once they had been issued to staff.

The security implications were significant. With no MDM or endpoint management solution, the team could not enforce security policies, push updates, or remotely wipe devices in the event of loss or theft. Onboarding and off-boarding were largely manual processes, with no systematic way to provision new devices or revoke system access across the estate.

Perhaps most telling was what happened whenever something went wrong. In the absence of a dedicated internal IT function, troubleshooting issues fell to whoever happened to have the most technical knowledge in the room — pulling engineers away from building the product and creating an unsustainable dependency on a handful of individuals. As the team grew, so did the problem and it became clear this could not continue.

Finding the right partner

The decision to look for a managed service provider was driven by two converging pressures. As a regulated financial services business handling sensitive client data, Multiply needed to demonstrate robust security controls. This was essential to both satisfy its own compliance obligations and to meet the increasingly rigorous compliance requirements of enterprise clients. At the same time, the operational reality of managing IT without dedicated personnel was simply no longer viable and detracting from day-to-day operations.

KRCS quickly proved to be the expert partner Multiply needed, offering a fully managed Apple IT platform designed to simplify deployment, strengthen security, and reduce internal IT overhead. Powered by Jamf Pro — the industry-leading Apple device management platform trusted by enterprises worldwide — their managed service combined zero-touch deployment, automated Apple Business enrolment for new hardware, centralised policy enforcement, operating system and application management, identity integration and responsive remote support within a single solution.

For Multiply, this created a secure, scalable, and auditable Apple environment capable of meeting both operational demands and enterprise compliance expectations.

Multiply team
A new, fully remote team member can be up and running on day one without any IT setup burden falling on us or on them. What used to require significant time and manual effort is now essentially seamless.

New hires, covered from day one - wherever they are

The transformation in Multiply’s daily operations quickly became apparent. Today, automatic Apple Business account registration of hardware procured through KRCS greatly simplifies the way new starters join the company, and significantly speeds up the process. Previously, getting a new team member set-up had required significant manual effort, time and troubleshooting. New Macs now ship directly to staff, pre-configured and ready to use straight out of the box

The speed of the process — from placing an order to having a fully enrolled, policy-compliant device in hand — is now a genuine operational advantage. Just as important is the consistency it brings: every device is enrolled and managed from the moment it is activated, with the right security policies applied from the start. The ability to customise configurations to Multiply's specific needs ensures the team is never stuck with a one-size-fits-all setup that doesn't reflect how they work.

A foundation, not an afterthought

For a fintech operating in a heavily regulated environment, the technical compliance enforcement and insight delivered by KRCS have been as important as the operational efficiencies. Device enrolment, software and OS updates, security policy enforcement, approved app installation and remote management are now consistent and auditable across the entire estate — something Multiply simply could not evidence before.

The support experience has matched the quality of the infrastructure. Response times are fast, issues are resolved with minimal back-and-forth, and there is no sense of being passed around or left waiting for an update.

Mike Curtis, Multiply

KRCS stood out immediately for the clarity and transparency of their offering — their pricing was clear, with none of the opacity we encountered elsewhere. It doesn't feel like dealing with a faceless service provider; it feels like working with people who are genuinely invested in making things work for us.

JP Fleuret, Head of Operations, Multiply

What really made the difference, though, was the people. From the first interaction, the KRCS team were knowledgeable, approachable, and took the time to ensure we understood exactly what we were signing up for.

A solid foundation for success

Strategically, too, KRCS has added consistent value. Rather than offering generic recommendations, the team takes the time to understand Multiply's business and its specific needs — flagging relevant developments, identifying potential improvements, and helping the team think through its IT setup in a way that's not just fit for purpose today, but positioned to scale.

For Multiply, the overall impact has been significant. Its IT environment is now secure, scalable, remote-enabled, well-managed, and no longer a distraction from running and growing the business.
