KRCS Group invite you to our exclusive Annual Learning & Technology Conference at the National Brewery Centre in Burton Upon Trent. We're proud to hold our interactive conference at this historic venue, a member of The European Route of Industrial Heritage.

You'll find all the information you need for the day here, from booking your tickets to the variety of workshops you can attend and get involved with. The day will be filled with interactive sessions, keynote speakers, an exhibition of education products and an opportunity to 'Ask the Education Specialist'.

Each delegate will receive an informative goodie bag with items included from our exhibitors on the day. There will also be the opportunity to sample a glass of beer and to win some family tickets to visit the Brewery Museum.

Guest Speakers

We'll be joined by Abdul Chohan, former CEO of one of the UK’s most successful schools and Gavin Holden, of Abbot Beyne School in Burton, where every student uses iPad. Also, Chris Smith our Apple Education Trainer & Distinguished Expert, who works alongside schools across the UK on the successful implementation and integration of the iPad into lessons, and Darren Tobin, who specialises in coding with Sphero EDU.

Meet the Education Specialists

In addition to our guest speakers, the KRCS education team and Chris Smith, Apple Distinguised Educator will be available on the day. With many years of classroom experience between them, please take the opportunity to let them answer your questions on teaching, learning, technology and pedagogy.


There will be opportunity for you to attend workshops presented by our speakers, on how to use mobile technology for Assessment, Curriculum Delivery, Transforming Learning and Leadership.

Workshop: Teaching and learning in a 1:1 environment - A Leadership Perspective
Presenter: Abdul Chohan

The transformational redesign of learning with Apple technology is essential for the success of every student and the wider community. Discover how teachers and students are independently discovering new ways of learning to ensure they are prepared for the future of tomorrow.

Workshop: Sphero EDU coding challenge
Presenter: Darren Tobin

Get hands on with an interactive set of lessons that develop problem solving skills, collaboration between students, computational thinking and knowledge of angles, shapes, space, speed, distance & time. Students will really enjoy extending their mathematical knowledge while exploring sound, movement and light with the SPRK+ robot and the Sphero EDU App. And if you’re brave enough we’ll give you a deep dive into Lessons using the SPRK+ robot in water.

Workshop: Teaching, Learning and Assessing
Presenter: Chris Smith

In this workshop we will be looking at how to get the best out of your iPad in the classroom setting. How to save time and money. Explore classroom management, the delivery of assignments and new ways to assess in the digital age. We will look at some of the new features of iOS11 and how they impact on teaching. Also how SMT can promote the use of technology - “leading by example”. This will be a hands on session allowing you to become more familiar with how teachers can save time and resources across the curriculum.

For this workshop you will require an iPad running the most up to date iOS and the following Apps:
